Have you ever gone to get your nails done and end up knicking your newly painted nails before you even leave the salon? Yeah Me too…
And have you ever left the salon to only have the manicure that you spent your hard earned money chip before you have even gotten to take it out for a spin. Well there is a new manicure called Shellac UV Gel nail polish that seems to not only brag about a ease of application, (apparently you paint it on similar to regular nail polish).
No more chipped nail polish
And It boast a staying power of 14 days, with out a chip or smudge during that time. But don’t take my word for it.
The average cost of a uv gel application is anywhere from $35 up for a mani. So it isn’t the most cost effective manicure. But if you factor in the amount of manicures you may have in a two week period. Getting a UV gel mani, might be an attractive option.
If you are a do it yourself-er or a professional, manicurist and you want to offer the service. To Get you started you will have to buy the base coat, color and top coat all at a cost of $15.99 per coat and each coat must be cured with a UV light. And they sell removal pads that you soak with acetone to remove the gel from your nails.
Shellac’s Website says you can’t just remove it with regular nail polish. But many of the videos that I have watched on Youtube says different, as long as you use acetone nail polish remover, and soak it off as you would an acrylic gel. The Shellac UV gel system comes in more than 50 colors.
